Ðại lễ 1000 năm Thăng Long được tổ chức 10 ngày từ ngày 1 tháng 10 đến ngày 10 tháng 10 nhằm bày tỏ lòng biết ơn đối với công lao dựng nước và giữ nước của tổ tiên và truyền thừa truyền thống lịch sử này cho người dân, đặc biệt là cho giới trẻ.
